We don't charge per letter for a reasonable number of letters. Excessive text may cost additional. Especially on a small plaque - if it can be carved at all. Check out the CARVED SIGN GALLERY for Custom Personalized Outdoor Engraved Wooden Cabin Signs we have previously carved and mention them by picture number if you wanna' use one of those those. We'll need a few days to get back to you with your initial scale rendering of your personalized welcome sign. It's can be 10 to 15 business days after the approval of your proof choice to hand carve your rustic custom engraved welcome sign before we pack and ship it. Sometimes though, we can do them faster because we carve them in the order we receive them. Just depends on how complex some are. The common loon is anything but common. Nor do they have diddly-squat to do with Custom Carved Rustic Wooden Personalized Welcome Signs. We do know; however, that folks that love our enduring outdoor wood signs also love loons. We like to think they are as inherently unique as our enduring Outdoor Rustic Engraved Welcome Signs. Red-eyed, with distinctive black and white markings, the loon has a dagger-like beak that apparently is perfect for its long, underwater fishing trips diving to depths of over 90 ft! (Ohmygosh!) It is silent in winter, but in summer the loon is truly loquacious, (whatever that means) with a repertoire (again?) of sounds that haunt the lake and waterways with strange laughter-like calls, and odd yodelings. At night, the effect is genuinely prehistoric! (Like some of our rustic signs from 40 years ago)
